Need to cool off? Visit any of the three public swimming pools.

Tee times aren't hard to come by at most of the public golf courses. For the kid in your family, tee up at a miniature golf course.

Fox Ridge State Park - Charleston
8 miles south on Route 130
Fox Ridge State Park is known for its steep, thickly wooded ridges, broad, lush valleys and miles of rugged, scenic hiking trails and covers 1,632 acres.In sharp contrast to the flat prairies of most of this section of Illinois, Fox Ridge is set amidst rolling hills along the forested bluffs of the Embarras River. At any time of year, Fox Ridge State Park is a great place to visit. Activities including hiking, picnicking, fishing, boating, limited hunting and camping.

The parks 451-acres surround a 59-acre lake with 6.3 miles of shoreline. Facilities include hiking, fishing, boating, picnicking, camping and limited hunting. During the winter months, try ice fishing, ice-skating and cross-country skiing.
